THE SUN HOTEL

MARCH 2OO8 PSI was invited to carry out an over night investgation at the the sun hotel. The SUN is a traditional coaching inn which has stood in the centre of historic Hitchin since the 1500's. Due to the nature of the building the event got off to a very late start, with the team divided into two groups and although a very quite night the teams findings are as follows.

In the store room area,  Tony felt immmediatley uncomfortable from the moment he entered the room and got the impression of man with hair relativley short at the side but a lot thicker on top with a  parting in the middle. He had what seemed to be a wart on the right hand side of his face in the middle of the cheek nad wearing a brown wasitcoat. In the same room Vince was sure that something touched his right leg. A women dressed in a long lose fitting white dress which was desribed as bedware, her hair was brown  a tight bob at the back with a white cloth covering it she was covering her face and crying, the names ANNE - JUNE then JANE were picked up on.

Room 12.    In this room a shooting was picked up by Tony and Carl ( in team 2 )  got chest pains.                    was the person shot in the chest.                    A glass movement experiment was conducted and this came up with a                   christian man who did not agree with what we were doing and the                   name JOSEPH. could this have been his name !  and that he had been hung.                   Another man was picked up who was imprisoned in the                   building previous to the inn. ( at  present no records show of another building. but could it be that he                   was just locked within the room to stop him getting away, although staff do believe that there was a prison there before the hotel ).                      and that his throat was cut. was he just locked up in the room then murdered !!   so was there two spirits there or just one playing                   us for fools.

When calling for spirits/orbs ROSE is the creme de la creme  In room 12 Rose had little success, but KIM  only seconds later does.

The Ball Room.  The team were told by members of staff that most activity seemed to be found / reported in the ballroom. but on this night it was very limited,  with various orbs in colour being captured on camera.

The small bar area, Both carl and rose picked up on a small girl running around this area with Rose stainf thatshe had blond her and about 10yrs old. Tony sensed that someone was on a differenrt level possibly hanging. ( was this the same spirit that was in room 12 presenting himself here or another hanging. no records can confirm this ) the glass movement produced that there was a little girl aged about 11 in the area ( possibly the same girl Rose picked up on ). with the name Danielle who  alledgedly died from consumption in 1609.  ( again confirmation can not be found ) . and that there was 7 spirits in total within the building. While doing the glass movement Gary said he got the felling of tightness around the neck as if he was choking. ( was this the feeling from the spirit that was hung ). Carl stated that last time it said his throat was cut.  So was this the same two spirits that were picked up on early into the investigatoion in room 12. Vince also became quite nauseous.

While waiting for the evenings investigation to begin vince opened the window as the night was extremely warm aand the heating was stuck on full.  Vince in a light hearted moment poses in thought as he looks out the window. look at what was captured. an orb and some strange anomolie

At around 4am it was decided to end the nights vigil and prepare for the long journey home. A bit later on Vince while driving home  felt an extreme tiredness come over him, the same thing happened before the glass movement experimnt in the small bar, then sickness and tiredness, vince wondered if there was anything in this or was it just down to the long day and nights vigil taking its toll.  he said maybe the place has something connected with death sickness - maybe the plague.

As you might expect the SUN HOTEL stands on sun street but amazingly behind lays QUEENS STREET where in turn it joins BRIDGE STREET. This area was known for its deprivation and slums. It was also known as DEAD STREET, the reason ----- DEAD STREET dates from the great plague of 1349. In the 16th century 50 people from DEAD STREET died from the plague and were buried in a pit nearby.  In 1665 the great  plague struck again and swept through london. Many people fled to HITCHIN , this only helped to spead the disease and in one month 30 people died from it in the town, Vince seems to be spot on and it also transpires that  in 1924 work was carried out to clear the slums of QUEENS STREET,  it is now principally a --------- CAR PARK. Is this the same car park behind the hotel that the teams vehicles were parked in.
